About Me

From my very first experience of acupuncture, I was amazed by Chinese medicine's ability to take seemingly disparate symptoms and find a way to make sense of them. Through working with a variety of conditions, I have found that understanding how the body is interconnected in myriad ways can help people to connect the dots between their symptoms and thus gain a deeper understanding of their own body.

With a background in medical publishing at The BMJ, I am able to blend the latest evidence-based research with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to offer a holistic approach that treats you as an individual.
I have a keen interest in women's health, mental-emotional and musculoskeletal conditions, and I am passionate about continuing to further my knowledge.

How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works by restoring the smooth flow of qi (energy) throughout the body and promoting a state of balance.
In Western medicine terms, acupuncture stimulates the nervous system to release natural pain relieving chemicals such as endorphins, alongside influencing other chemicals and hormones such as oxytocin, melatonin and serotonin which positively impact stress, sleep and wellbeing.
Acupuncture also increases blood flow to an area, which supports the body's natural healing process.
